SugarCRM contains a wealth of data, but what good is the data if you cannot use it within marketing automation? The ability to leverage custom data fields not only increases our already deep integration with Sugar, but expands the flexibility when creating automated workflows and lead scoring to account for a larger amount of variables in your CRM. Leverage SugarCRM secondary modules Opportunities, Calls, Meetings, Quotes, Tasks, Cases and Contracts.
Leveraging custom data fields with secondary modules begins with either turning on the perspective module on your SymSyc Dashboard, or running a manual sync on the already active secondary module. Manual sync will pull in any custom data fields associated with that module to INBOX25. The image below displays the manual sync icons under each secondary module. The blue icon denotes a module that is in the process of a manual update.
Once the custom data fields have been synced over to INBOX25, you can now dive head first into leveraging them within the context of automation. In the below image I have created a common use case for leveraging a custom data field within my Calls module. Inside of SugarCRM I created a custom data field called "Call Temperature which will denote the effectiveness of the call. Selecting the Calls condition on the automated campaign wizard allows me to choose my custom data field "Call Temperature".
Once my custom data field is selected, I can then go about adding more specific metrics to the condition. In this example I am selecting that this condition pull from my custom data field "Call Temperature" and have an equals value of "Hot". Anyone who has a registered hot call would denote a successful call and I want to proceed with a follow up phone call.
This is just one common use case utilizing custom data fields in a SugarCRM secondary module. It of course comes down to how you specifically utilize these custom data fields within your CRM. The major benefit with leveraging custom data fields within these secondary modules is the ability to create automated workflows to specifically target custom set-ups within your CRM system.
