Step #1. Create a New Scorecard
To begin creating an INBOX25 Scorecard, scroll over the Scoreboard tab on your dashboard and click the "Create Scorecard" sub-tab. This takes you to our Scorecard Manager, where you can create and customize an unlimited number of Scorecards that add or subtract point values based on target interaction.
Step #2. Name your Scorecard
The first step is to name your new Scorecard, hit save, and continue.
Step #3. Add a Rule
Scorecards are comprised of Rules and Rules are comprised of Conditions. Every Scorecard can have an unlimited number of Rules and every Rule can have an unlimited number of Conditions that are connected together using an 'AND' operator. Or, in other words, when you have multiple Conditions in a Rule, each Condition must match in order for points to be adjusted for your Target/Contact.
To add a Rule, click the "Add a new rule" button and you will see a white box (with red trimming on the top) appear underneath. On the left side of the box is a dropdown button labeled "Condition." This is where you select which type of Rule (like Geography, Landing Page, or Social Activity) you want to create.
Once you selected a type of Condition, name the rule and hit "Save this Rule."
Step #4. Add a Condition
Now that you've created a new Rule, its time to add your first Condition. Start by clicking on the "Add a Condition" button and then select a Condition Type.
After you click to add a Condition, you will be shown a list of all the Condition options available for your Rule Type. In our case we selected a Rule Type of 'Data Fields' and we were presented with a drop-menu of every data field in our contact database. In this example, we opted to assign 25 points to any Target that has a VP title. The available operators we offer are: Equals, Does not Equal, Contains and Does not Contain.
Once you have finished customizing your Condition(s), proceed to click the "Save This Rule" button and you will see "Rule Successfully Saved! Thank You!" appear above the box.
Tip: a yellow background with "This Rule is in Edit Mode" will display above the box until you finish creating the Scorecard. Keep in mind that you can select multiple Conditions (of the same Rule Type) and multiple Rules in one Scorecard. You can create an unlimited number of Rules and you can use the same Rule type as frequently as you wish.
Point Values and Maximum Score
Regardless of the Rule and Condition you choose, you will always be given the option to select a Point Value for your Rule and to assign a Maximum Points value (so that repeat email opens, for example, won't skew the score). You could also make meeting the Rule's Conditions a requirement for qualifying for a certain Lifecycle Stage (must have 50 points on email opens to qualify for Warm, for example). Each rule can have its own Points and Max Points values - so feel free to get creative.
Step #5. Activate your Rules and Scorecard
Once you are done creating the rules for your Scorecard, activate the Scorecard by clicking on the green Play button on the top right corner, to the right of the Delete and Edit scorecard buttons. You will also need to activate each Rule you created, by clicking the play button that appears to the right of the Rule name.
Tip: Activating a Scorecard does not activate your individual rules, they must be handled individually. But, pausing an entire Scorecard will automatically pause all of your rules.
