At INBOX25 we pride ourselves on providing the only built-in marketing cloud package for the SugarCRM ecosystem. With the upcoming release of SugarCRM 8 our product team invested months pouring over customer feedback to develop requirements for our next generation SugarCRM module (4.8.8). We focused specifically on usability and maximizing our original concept of 'built-in' and what that should mean to the daily CRM users.
After nearly 6 months of planning, development and testing we are pleased to announce the release!

- Built-in Reporting and Analytics

Campaign Module
One common pain-point that Sugar users have frequently expressed is the limited functionality of Sugar's native Campaign module. We are often asked why the INBOX25 Email Wizard couldn't be a drop-in replacement for the Sugar campaign wizard. It's a good question and a great idea. In v4.8.8 we not only built-in our Email Wizard, but also our Drip Campaign Wizard, Social Campaign Wizard and our Automation Wizard. Each just one click away from the native Campaign module in Sugar.
In addition to the Campaign module enhancements our new NextGen Email Wizard is also available in v4.8.8, which also includes A/B split testing.
Built-in Reports and Analytics
Our most popular reports are now available from the Reports menu in Sugar. Our latest module includes new framework that will make it very seamless to expand our one-click reporting collection in Sugar. So stay tuned.
Intelligence Panels for Timeline + Vision A.I.
The most frequently accessed tool in our Sugar package has been the built-in Timeline report for Prospects, Leads, Contacts and Accounts. By far. Sales agents love the data points and the quick access. But we thought we could make it better.
Intelligence Panel for Timeline
Our first goal was to ensure that the Timeline report didn't obstruct from the other sub-panel views. In our previous version it was a challenge to traverse between the Timeline sub-panel and other native sub-panels. To solve this we have introduced an Intelligence Panel dashlet for our Timeline report. The new dashlet makes it easier for your sales folks to keep eyes on sub-panels without closing the Timeline report.
Vision A.I. for Sales Prospecting
Our second goal was to give Vision, our new A.I. data platform, a new home inside of Sugar. This was easily accomplished with our Timeline Intelligence Panel using a simple toggle button. Now your sales folks can retrieve a 360-degree profile of their lead or customer right from our dashlet.
Less clicks, more function.
In keeping with our theme of reducing clicks, enhancing usability and maximizing our 'built-in' methodology we expanded our offering of direct access features. With direct access a CRM user is not required to navigate to our main Sugar module and then proceed to navigate within our module frame and panel. Instead, the user can access these features directly from the Sugar navigation panel.
Features available directly from Sugar navigation:
- Automation and Journey Builder
- Email Wizard
- Drip Campaign Wizard
- Social Campaign Wizard
- Landing Page and Form Builder
- Reports and Analytics
- and more...
Simplified CRM installation and configuration.
In v4.8.8 we have simplified the module setup and configuration process. Our previous generation modules required that the module package be configured for every user. We've changed that approach in favor of a single configuration being universally applied to each user. Administrators only need to install and setup the module once and it will apply to each user automatically.
What about permissions and access?
Our approach to handling permissions in the module has also been streamlined. One of many unique approaches that INBOX25 has taken with Sugar is to replicate the data structure and permissions for records from Sugar. This effectively means that we can apply individual contact permissions in INBOX25 based on the assigned to value in Sugar.
Mapping CRM users to INBOX25 users
Moving forward, what your CRM users have access to in the INBOX25 module will depend on their permission configuration in INBOX25.
In the example below Alan Greenfield is an INBOX25 user and his user account is mapped to Test Account, a SugarCRM user.
The SugarCRM user 'Test Account' will be limited to access features of the INBOX25 module in SugarCRM based on the access rights that Alan Greenfield is assigned. You can also restrict Alan Greenfields access within INBOX25 and our module, to only records that he is assigned to in Sugar (shown below).
Default - No Mapping to an INBOX25 user
In the default configuration a CRM user that is not mapped to an INBOX25 user will only have limited access to the Timeline Report for CRM records that they're permitted to view. They will not have access to any other feature or function of the INBOX25 module.
Upgrading to v4.8.8
To upgrade from your existing INBOX25 installation, open a ticket with our support team and we'll send you the module package and instructions. It's simple and only requires that you uninstall your existing module first.
Migrating from SugarCRM v7+ to SugarCRM v8
We recommend uninstalling your previous module before upgrading from SugarCRM v7+ to SugarCRM v8. Our previous generation module is not compatible with SugarCRM v8. If you have already been upgraded to SugarCRM v8, please open a support ticket with Sugar to request that our incompatible module package be removed (clean) from the module loader.
